This paper investigates the impact of foreign workers on unemployment, labour force participation and part-time employment in Cyprus, using data from the EU Labour Force Surveys for the period 1999-2005. This is examined overall, and by age group, or education, level. The study finds that the presence of foreign workers has not affected total unemployment or total labour force participation in Cyprus. Part-time employment seems to be marginally affected overall. On the other hand, the presence of foreign workers affects the probability of unemployment, labour force participation and part-time employment of some age and education groups.
